GALA Western Association of Schools and Colleges report and accreditation process:
The Accreditation Commission for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC) is a process schools use to monitor student learning and set school improvement goals. Schools assess their program based on the ASC WASC criteria and accreditation factors. The school does a self-assessment that results in a 3-5 year action plan. The school hosts a self-study visit from ACS WASC members to validate and make suggestions on the self study based on the WASC criteria. The WASC self study includes all members of the school community and is a continuous process of self evaluation and, with the school site plan, outlines are of growth and strength for the school. The ACS WASC team recommends a period of accreditation from 1 to 6 years which validates the school program and diploma.
In 2022 GALA did a full-self-study and received an accreditation term of 6 years. GALA will have a mid-term visit in the 2024-25 school year and will have another full self-study report in 2027-2028. The school writes a report on several areas in the school, including school organization, curriculum, instruction, assessment and accountability, and school culture. The GALA reports are below. GALA teachers, staff, parents and students, as well as our SSC have been a part of developing the report.
